About Efficiency

Accurate Dorwin is a certified LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) company.

LEED is an internationally recognized third party green building certification system that encourages and accelerates the adaptation of sustainable green building practices. When you’re designing a space and specify Accurate Dorwin FIberglass windows, you can earn LEED points in the following key areas:

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY

MATERIAL SELECTION

Pultruded fiberglass is our material of choice for windows, meaning they have a much lower thermal conductivity than other materials. This combined with our insulated frames and sashes, results in some of the most energy efficient windows in the world.

Fiberglass Advantage

Homeowners in North America choose fiberglass for five key reasons:

1. Strength

Pultruded Fiberglass is the strongest of all window materials. Fiberglass is eight times stronger than PVC, over three times stronger than wood composites, and 20% stronger than aluminum.

2. Energy Efficiency

Pultruded Fiberglass is our material of choice for windows, meaning they have a much lower thermal conductivity than other materials. This combined with our insulated frames and sashes, results in some of the most energy efficient windows in the world.

3. Stability

Pultruded Fiberglass frames exhibit minimal expansion and contraction in extreme temperature changes. Fiberglass and glass have similar rates of expansion and contraction, which results in superior weather seal performance, smooth window operation, and consistent alignment of the sash and frame.

4. Durability

Virtually impervious to moisture, Fiberglass windows won’t bend, warp, discolour, corrode, rust, fade or deteriorate no matter what Mother Nature throws their way.

5. Environmental Friendliness

Pultruded Fiberglass window frames combined with high efficiency insulating glass can help reduce the world’s energy consumption. Fiberglass is made from silica sand — an abundant natural resource, so there is less embodied energy in fiberglass as compared to PVC, aluminum, and wood, which require gas and petrol-chemicals, electricity, and slow growing trees to make, respectively.
